Did you know that 8 years to people is 56 "cat years?" That's a really large part of the life of a cat! If McCain were to be elected, that would be another 28 years of having a Republican president, or 4 more years to you.
Are McCain and Bush the same? Jon Stewart and his research team put together this stunning set of clips showing that the "change" McCain talks about in his acceptance speech is the same stuff Bush talked about in 2000. This clip is 8 minutes long so if you want to get to the part comparing Bush's speech in 2000 to McCain's speech in 2008, go 4 minutes in. The beginning is worth watching, though, so I do recommend the entire clip!

Now at the end of that clip, there is a part where Jason Jones acts like he doesn't know who got the Republican nomination because he was watching football. You might not have time to look up the references they make in that part so I thought I'd share them here.... It turns out that John Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, was a Vietnam Veteran who received 3 purple hearts for his service in the Vietnam War. His wife is heir to the Heinz Ketchup fortune and apparently they have a lot of houses. John McCain is also a Vietnam Vet who recieved a purple heart. Cindy McCain inherited and is the controlling stockholder of an Anheuser-Busch beer distributor company and they have 7 houses. From what I gather listening to the people around my house, that's about where the similarity ends!
